Making Memories: Anandapur at night

Another look at the beauty that is Animal Kingdom at night. This time we travel to Asia and the village of Anandapur. If you look closely behind Expedition Everest you can see the fan of spot lights from Hollywood Studios.

Making Memories: Sail in Grand style

Even with the fact that The Grand Floridian is one of my least favorite resorts it still has some cool things to see and do. This includes sailing like in the picture above, relaxing to the swinging sounds of the band in the lobby, or purchasing a gingerbread cookie from inside a real life size gingerbread house during the holiday season. the point is ( to quote the Enchanted Tiki Room) that every cloud has a silver lining.

Gardner's Shack: around the castle

Gardner's Shack is just a series of some of the more attractive views around the parks featuring the flora and fauna of the parks and resorts. Today some of the greenery around the castle. Being one of the most photographed structures in the world its important to make the surrounding grounds look good also. Several years ago now the trees in the hub were removed to give a better view of the castle. Was this a good move or a bad one. I for one miss the twinkling light that adornd those trees at night, but let me know what you think. Leave any thoughts you have on it in the comments below, and if you like the blog please plus us on Google+ . Thanks!

note: last two pics of hub with trees borrowed from the interweb. If they are yours thanks.

World Traveler: Japan Part 1

This is the first in a series that will dive into the depths of the world showcase pavilions at Epcot. Today we look at the exterior of the Japan pavilion. upon entering the pavilion we see a traditional torii gate along the waters edge, A Japanese Pagoda, and several authentic buildings surrounding a courtyard. At the rear of the courtyard are large gates and a moat that lead to a Japanese castle. The pavilion is home to several dinning and entertainment options which we well look at in future posts. Including the Mitsukoshi department store, A chain of stores founded in 1673 in Japan.

Making Memories: Tree of Life at Night

Animal Kingdom at night a rare site. Best time to get shots like this is to visit around Christmas when the hours are extended and the sun goes down early. Oh and don't forget the tripod.

Club 33: The meal to end all meals

I was talking to my amazing and beautiful girlfriend today about my once in a lifetime experience of enjoying a meal at club 33, Walt Disney's private dinning room. So i decided to do a few posts on the club. Today's post is a few pics of the outside of the club. Its entrance is tucked away on the back streets of New Orleans Square. So tucked away that most people walk right past it. It's only identified buy a small plaque with the club's insignia on it. In fact to enter you have to access a hidden intercom to confirm your reservation, which can only be made by a club member.

Ye Old Sign Shop: Safari Wars

After the holiday weekend im still feeling lazy, so I pulled up a post from my first blog from way back in the day. It fits well with my sign shop topic idea so I hope you enjoy.

A long time ago in a African village far far away... Two rival safari company's competed for top billing as “the best safaris in all of East Africa. This is the underlying storyline Disney Imagineers inserted to the already bustling story driven village of Harambe. The first company should ring a bell, the Kilimanjaro Safaris. But there rival is a little less known, Cap'n Bobs Super Safaris. Kilimanjaro's slogan is “When it comes to safaris, we go wild!”,bob's is “trust us!” so you be the judge who to travel with.

So how do you find out about the mysterious Cap'n Bob's? Well start by taking time to walk the back alleys of the village and read the posters on the walls. Most look like they have been plastered on 20 years ago not just 9, this is thanks to the great thematic techniques of the Imagineers. So next time in Harambe take some time to read the local ad's you may find there is more then meet the eye.
