Parks in Print: Teen April 72, Part 1

Less then a year after Disney World opened Teen Magazine ran this 18 page spread covering everything a Teen could do at Disney. Over the next three days we'll dive in page by page and look at what was really Neat-O about the Vacation Kingdom. First take a look up at the cover "Walt Disney World Guide to Boy-Girl Paradise"... ok, I'm not touching that one. but I am interested in why Neil Diamond is not interested in success.

A diary from one of the teens talking about how her family all wanted to do different things but Disney World covered all of them.

Two teens pose with some of the Liberty Tree Cast. This is the first of the fashion shoots that are in this article. It's interesting to note this is not just a big ad for Disney. All the clothing is from a company called Pixie of  California.

Also all the luggage is from Lady Baltimore and don't expect Eastern Airways to miss out on the chance to remind you they are the official airline of Walt Disney World. I really like that castle display in the background. But more importantly, Yes that's Kurt Russel in the ad. pretty awesome.

When the guest's clothing is louder then Pinocchio's. This also helps us understand the cast costume choices. We look back and laugh at them but based on what we see here they were very hip and trendy.
Here we see some of the park and the cast. Let me just say when I was a cast member this kind of flirting with guests would not fly. that being said they are really selling the whole if you're a girl you'll find a summer fling at Disney World. That is also seen in the Kraft presented 10th Anniversary Special where Dana Plato falls for Michael Keaton.

And again we Have Kurt and his co-star Joyce Mengers from the film Now You See Him Now You Don't. This time it's an ad for our clothing sponsor Pixie. Tomorrow we'll take a look at the second part. Kurt will be back and will see more of the park and resorts.
