With all the excitement with Disneyland's 60th Anniversary yesterday, we missed talking about another anniversary. Splash Mountain turned 26 years old yesterday. The first true water ride in Disney Parks, Splash has always been a bit of a enigma. First off it's based on the film Song of the South which is banned from being re-released. Then to any passer by it would appear to be a short ride with one big drop... Wrong. and then another mind blowing part of Splash for us east coasters is when we find out that all these cute new characters are actually re used from America Sings... Crazy! Oh and the grand opening that aired on Wonderful World of Disney was called Ernest goes to Splash Mountain so yeah that happened. All joking aside Splash Mountain is one of the top must sees and will always leave you smiling. Happy Birthday Splash!
